FlexCards Cannot Be Published in Standard Runtime using Managed Package Designer

Udgivelsesdato: Jun 25, 2026
Beskrivelse

Issue

When attempting to publish a FlexCard in an OmniStudio environment configured for Standard Runtime, the Publish Options button either does not appear or returns an error. The FlexCard Managed Package Designer does not surface the expected publish controls after the card is built.

Symptoms

  • The "Publish Options" button is missing or greyed out on the FlexCard designer page.
  • An error is displayed when attempting to generate a Standard Runtime-compatible FlexCard.
  • The FlexCard was created but publish/deploy actions are not available.

Root Cause

In OmniStudio, FlexCards created in a Standard Runtime environment require a separate deployment step before they can be published. The Standard Runtime uses Lightning Web Components (LWC) as the component framework. When a FlexCard is first created, the corresponding LWC has not yet been deployed, so the platform cannot offer publish options until the component is explicitly generated and deployed as a Standard Runtime-compatible LWC. The deployment step ensures the component is properly prepared for the LWC runtime before it becomes publishable.

Løsning

To resolve the issue, deploy the Standard Runtime-compatible LWC for the FlexCard:

  1. Confirm that the org is operating in Standard Runtime for OmniStudio.
  2. Select the FlexCard that needs to be published.
  3. Choose "Deploy Standard Runtime Compatible LWC" from the available actions.
  4. Wait for the deployment to complete, then refresh the page.
  5. Click "Publish Options" — the publish controls should now be visible and functional.
  6. Verify that the FlexCard publishes successfully by checking the published status.

If the issue persists after following these steps, confirm that the user has the necessary OmniStudio permissions and that no deployment errors appear in the browser network logs.
