There are several Slack integrations and apps available for Salesforce departments, including Agentforce Sales (formerly Sales Cloud for Slack), Agentforce Service (formerly Service Cloud for Slack), and Marketing Cloud, as well as industry-specific solutions.
Department or industry-specific Slack apps can be used alone or in combination with the platform-level Salesforce for Slack app (App ID: A03269G3DNE), which is the cornerstone of the Salesforce Slack app ecosystem. While the platform app is not required to use department or industry-specific Slack apps, it is recommended to install it to take full advantage of Salesforce and Slack features such as notifications, approvals, and screen flows in Slack.
The Salesforce for Slack app requires admins to manually create Flows in Salesforce. The Slack Apps for Departments and Slack Apps for Industries include pre-configured setup, including Flows designed to work with Actions in Lightning Experience.
