Unable to Assign the Slack Service User Permission Set in Salesforce

Дата публикации: May 4, 2026
Описание

Attempting to assign the Slack Service User Permission Set in a Salesforce org may fail. This can occur in two scenarios:

  1. The Slack Service User Permission is missing from the org entirely, usually because prerequisites have not been completed.
  2. The following error is returned: "Failure: All Slack Service User Permission-set licenses are in use. For more licenses, contact your Salesforce.com representative."
Решение

Scenario 1: Slack Service User Permission is Missing from the Org

If the Slack Service User Permission Set does not appear in your org, complete the following prerequisite steps:

  1. In the Salesforce org, navigate to Setup, then Initial Slack Setup. Verify that the Terms and Conditions toggle has been enabled.
  2. Confirm that "Service Cloud for Slack" is listed under Setup in the Salesforce org.
  3. If "Service Cloud for Slack" does not appear under Setup, your org may be missing the required Service Cloud User License. The Service Cloud User License is a prerequisite for the Slack Service User Permission Set. Contact your Salesforce Account Executive to verify and purchase the required license.

Scenario 2: All Slack Service User Licenses Are In Use

If the error "Failure: All Slack Service User Permission-set licenses are in use" is returned when assigning the permission set, all available Service Cloud User Permission Set licenses have already been assigned to other users. No additional assignments can be made until more licenses are obtained. Contact your Salesforce Account Executive to purchase additional Service Cloud User licenses.
