Troubleshooting Chatter Email Notifications and Verified Sender Settings.

For security reasons, Salesforce enforced the  Require Sender Name and Email Address to Send Chatter Email Notifications  release update with Winter ‘24 . Admin’s are now required to provide a Chatter email From Name and Verified Email Address for Chatter email notifications to be sent.

If these values are blank and if the email address isn’t verified, then chatter email subscribers won’t be able to get the chatter email notifications.
 

  1. Enter Email Settings in the Quick Find box. Select Chatter → Email Settings.  
  2. Enter values in the From Name and Email Address fields under Chatter Email Settings. 
  3. You receive an email verification link after these values are added. Verify the link to ensure that Chatter email notifications continue to be sent. 

A few things to remember:

  • You must have access to the email address that you use in the Email Address field so you can verify the link. 
  • You must verify the email confirmation link in order for notifications to be sent. 

Once you’ve entered values in the Sender Name and Email Address fields under Chatter email settings and verified the email confirmation link, notifications will function normally.

Why did Salesforce make this change?

Ensuring Chatter email notifications are only sent from a verified email address improves the security of our customers org.
