Administrators with the Customize Application permission may find the Sales Territories (formerly Enterprise Territory Management) option is missing from the Setup menu even after confirming correct permissions. This typically occurs in sandbox environments that have not been refreshed for an extended period of time. A refresh or the Match Production Licenses option can be used to resolve it.

Why This Happens

Salesforce has made Sales Territories (formerly known as Enterprise Territory Management) a provisionable feature in Sandbox. As a result, Salesforce Support no longer manually enables this feature in Sandbox, because it is now tied to the Salesforce license. If you do not see Sales Territories enabled by default, you need to complete the provisioning process.

How to Match Licenses in a Sandbox

To match licenses in a sandbox, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Setup.
  2. Search for Company Information.
  3. Select Match Production Licenses.
