While performing the initial setup for Sales for Slack, in some orgs, the Select Custom Objects for Slack option may not be visible within the Sales For Slack Setup. This setting helps user to choose which custom objects to show in Slack to users with the correct access.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Navigate to Setup.
2. Type Sales for Slack in Quick Find box.
3. Confirm that the Select Custom Objects for Slack setting is not present.
This setting is also documented in this Help Article : Control Custom Objects in Sales for Slack Search
If you encounter this issue or receive a similar case, use the quick workaround described below to make this setting visible.
This setting fails to appear when the Sales Cloud for Slack connection was not fully completed during initial setup, leaving the Slack User Mapping in a partial state. Removing the existing mapping and reconnecting through the direct install link forces a full re-initialization of the app, which causes the missing setting to appear.
1. Remove the existing Slack User Mapping from the Personal Settings of the User.
2. Connect Sales for Slack again using direct install link:
3. After completing this the user will be able to see the missing Select Custom Objects for Slack setting.
