Salesforce Data Mask Automations Not Re-Activated After Failed Job Runs

Date de publication: Apr 22, 2026
Description

Users may find that after a Salesforce Data Mask job run completes with errors, automations that were deactivated as part of the Data Mask job will not reactivate automatically. This article describes two methods to re-enable Data Mask automations without navigating each automation individually in the Salesforce user interface.

Résolution

Use one of the two methods below to re-enable Data Mask automations without manually activating each one through the user interface.

Method 1: Re-enable Automation Before a New Job Run

Use this method if no new Data Mask execution has been started since the failed run.

  • On the Configuration List View, click the down arrow for the configuration that experienced the error.
  • Click "Re-enable Automation."
  • Note: This must be done BEFORE starting a new execution. If another configuration run was started before re-enabling, use Method 2.
  • Check Run Logs for the Automation Reactivation Complete log.

Method 2: Re-enable Automation After a New Job Run Has Started

Use this method if a new Data Mask execution was started before re-enabling automation from the previous failed run.

  • In Run Logs, click the log associated with the affected execution and copy the Execution ID value.
  • Go to Setup → Custom Settings → Masking Configuration → Manage → Edit.
  • Paste the copied Execution ID from Step 1 into the "Current Execution ID" field and Save.
  • Return to the Data Mask List View and select "Re-enable Automation" for that configuration.
