Display Name Problems

Display Names can be rejected for a number of reasons, including:

1. The name has no clear connection to your Business
   1. For example, if your Business Name on your Business Manager account is “Bob’s Sodas“ and your display name is ”Michael’s Cell Phone Repair“, the name is unlikely to be approved.
   2. If you are using a partner or system integrator, you may not create your WhatsApp account or channel under their Business Manager. Each company must have their own Business Manager account, complete Business Verification, and you can then invite your partner to that account for integration.
2. The name does not follow the  About WhatsApp Business display name &     display name guidelines
3. The name or business violates the WhatsApp Commerce and Business policies

If you believe your Display Name is being rejected incorrectly after reviewing all above policies, please open a support case. At a minimum, your case needs to include:

• WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) ID
  • To find the ID of a WhatsApp Business Account, go to Business Manager > Business Settings > Accounts > WhatsApp Business Accounts. Find the account you want to use and click on it. A panel opens, with information about the account, including the ID.
• Phone Number related to the Rejected Display Name
• If there is a business justification for why the Display Name is different than the primary business name on the Business Manager account, please provide any relevant details. For example, if the display name is a subsidiary or associated brand, please describe the relationship and provide any public materials that will help demonstrate that relationship.

Notes:

• Once a display name is OBA approved, any change in the Display Name requires raising a support case. Apart from the WABA ID and Phone Number, please provide a minimum of 5 relevant Third-party business articles or blog posts that mention the requested display name for the aforementioned whatsapp Phone Number/ Channel.

• Previously, only Official Business Accounts could have their approved display name appear in chats with customers. Now this will be enabled for all businesses that have passed business verification, regardless of whether they have a green tick. This has decreased the significance of the OBA/green tick designation.
