Quip CAPTCHA Implementation

As a security measure to protect against nefarious traffic, new Quip registrants will be asked to verify they are a human user by completing a simple CAPTCHA security puzzle. Note: for any new user joining an existing Quip site for which SAML/SSO is enabled, the CAPTCHA puzzle will not be seen.

After entering Name, Email, Password and agreeing to terms, once a new user clicks Create Account, they will be shown the puzzle. Once the puzzle is successfully completed, the user will receive a verification email to complete the account creation process.

The Quip user account process will not continue until the puzzle is successfully completed. If a new user is unsuccessful in completing the puzzle, they can continue trying until successful completion.

If the puzzle is not completed within 5 minutes, the page must be refreshed and the puzzle can be attempted again. If the user goes back instead of refreshing, the registration process will start over and the user will need to enter their account registration details again before attempting the security puzzle again.
