Gmail integration requires an active internet connection and does not function in Offline Mode
Gmail has introduced an offline mode for everyone. This offline feature eliminates the need for the internet to read or respond to and also search Gmail messages. This offline feature will prove to be helpful, especially for people living in areas with a patchy internet connection.
Unfortunately, Salesforce's Chrome extension does not currently offer support for Offline emails due to the nature of offline functionality requiring synchronization with a local device rather than a cloud-based platform like Salesforce's CRM system. As a result, Salesforce's Chrome extension is optimized for online usage only, providing users with convenient access to Salesforce data and functionality within their Chrome browser.
The Gmail integration side panel is designed to seamlessly integrate your CRM software with your Gmail account, allowing you to easily access and manage customer data directly from your inbox. However, for this feature to function properly and retrieve relevant records, a connection between your CRM software and Gmail account is necessary. Without this connection, the side panel will not be able to retrieve the necessary data and will be limited in its functionality within Gmail.
To ensure smooth offline email functionality, it is recommended to disable the Salesforce Chrome extension while composing offline emails and re-enable it once your emails are delivered so that you can sync your data again.
