In some cases, a report used in a dashboard may initially display correctly with specific filters or groupings (for example, on a custom date field). However, after refreshing the dashboard, the filtered or grouped data may no longer appear.
This behavior occurs when the dashboard running user does not have access to the field used in the report’s filters or groupings.
Dashboard data is evaluated based on the running user’s permissions, not the dashboard creator’s. If the running user lacks access to fields used in filters or groupings, those configurations are ignored during refresh.
