Embedded chat session disconnects when visitor closes, reloads, or navigates away from original tab

In order to maintain session continuity between tabs, the tab that the chat originated from should remain open and cannot be used for navigation. If a visitor attempts to close out the tab, navigate to another page (on or off the same domain), or reloads the tab they will be prompted first by a browser warning:

"Leave site? Changes you made may not be saved."

Note: In Messaging for In-App and Web (MAIW), session persistence behavior differs and is managed by the SDK.

Løsning
  1. Advise the visitor to keep the original chat tab open throughout the session — navigating away or closing it will disconnect the chat.
  2. If multiple tabs on the same session are open, all additional tabs must be closed before navigation can resume.
  3. For MAIW implementations, session continuity is managed differently — refer to MAIW documentation.
