How to Create a CA Certificate for AS2 Keystore in Partner Manager

Goal:

This article aims to clarify the process of generating a CA (Certificate Authority) certificate for the AS2 (Applicability Statement 2) Keystore in Partner Manager.

Procedure:

1. Access the AS2 Host Keystore Creation:

   • Refer to the documentation titled "Create an AS2 Host Keystore" for detailed steps on creating the AS2 Host Keystore.

2. Choose Domain for CA Certificate:

   • Users have the flexibility to select their domain for the CA certificate. They are not required to use the Mulesoft Domain. However, ensure that the certificate shared is public.

3. Export Public Certificate:

   • After generating the CA certificate within the keystore, export the public certificate.
   • This exported certificate should be shared with the partner to facilitate AS2 communication.

4. Share Public Certificate:

   • Emphasize the importance of sharing the public certificate with the partner.
   • AS2 communication relies on mutual authentication, hence sharing the certificate is crucial for establishing secure communication.

Note:

• Users can use their own certificate, bypassing the need to utilize the MuleSoft domain.
• However, it's imperative to share the public certificate with the partner to enable AS2 communication effectively.
