Microsoft Outlook 365 MuleSoft Connector throws error :"Access token validation failure. Invalid audience."

SYMPTOM

 When using Microsoft Outlook 365 MuleSoft Connector with the connection type of “OAuth v2.0 Client Credentials”, the following error is seen in MuleSoft logs.

org.mule.runtime.extension.api.exception.ModuleException: Access token validation failure. Invalid audience.

CAUSE

This is caused due to the incorrect URL configured in the Scope field

SOLUTION

The solution here is to add the below URL in the Scope field
https://graph.microsoft.com/.default
