In Mule, when trying to add the SLA-based Rate Limiting Policy to the API instance in the MuleSoft API Manager, which has the policy - Client ID Enforcement (vice-versa) the following alert will display:
There is another policy applied with the same provided characteristics.
With Mule gateway policies, the reason to receive the error "There is another policy applied with the same provided characteristics" when trying to apply a rate-limiting SLA-based policy having the Client ID Enforcement applied, is that the Rate Limiting SLA policy already enforces internally the usage of client application credentials.
For further information, review the Client ID Enforcement Policy.
If you want to combine both policies' usage, remove the Client ID Enforcement and add only the Rate Limiting SLA policy from your application.
