Fecha de publicación: Oct 17, 2025
Descripción

The Help documentation Data Types in Field Mappings outlines that "After a DLO or DMO is created, you can’t change the data type of any fields." If you have configured Data Lake Object field with the wrong data type, follow the steps advised below to create a new field with the correct data type.

For adding new field in the DLO:
>Navigate to the DLO.
>Click on the Add New field button to your right.
>Click on Add field button.
>Create a new field with desired Data type

For adding new field in the DMO:
>Navigate to the DMO.
>Click edit.
>Navigate to the bottom of the page.
>Click on Add field button.
>Create a new field with desired Data type.

Solución

As data type modification is not possible, the only option is to create a new field with the correct data type. If you are required to create a new field for this reason, it is advised that you add the word final to the new field that will have the correct data type. As the original field cannot be fully deleted this can help avoid confusion in downstream process, such as segmentation or when querying DLOs or DMOs.

For DLO fields that were created via a data stream, it is also recommended to remove any mappings to DMOs that exist for the old field and then disable the field on the data stream. See Disable a Data Stream Field for details.
