Unable to Connect to the Sales Cloud for Slack App

Publiceringsdatum: Apr 30, 2026
Beskrivning

Users attempting to connect the Sales Cloud for Slack app may encounter one of several errors depending on whether permissions are missing, the Slack user is already mapped to another Salesforce org, or a previous sandbox refresh removed the connection. This article covers the most common connection errors and how to resolve them.

Lösning

Connection issues between Salesforce and Slack are usually caused by missing permissions, existing user mappings, or workspace restrictions. Identify the error message you receive and follow the corresponding steps below.

Error: “You don't have the user permissions to access this Slack app.”

Verify the following in Salesforce:

  • Terms & Conditions are accepted
  • Sales Cloud for Slack is enabled
  • User has the Sales Slack User permission

If all are correct:

  • Contact your Slack Admin to confirm permission to install apps in the workspace

Error: “It looks like you already connected this Slack user to another Salesforce account.”

This occurs when the Slack user is already linked to another Salesforce org.

Steps to resolve:

  1. Disconnect existing Slack-Salesforce connections:
    • Refer to Disconnect Slack from Salesforce
  2. If no Revoke option is visible:
    • Contact your Slack Admin to remove the app
  3. If a sandbox was refreshed:
    • You may need to contact Salesforce Support to remove old routing

Reconnect the Integration

After removing previous connections:

If using SSO:

  • Clear browser cache, or
  • Use an incognito window

If Issues Persist

Create a Salesforce Support case and include:

  • Salesforce Org ID (current and previously connected)
  • Slack Workspace ID (Team ID starting with “T”)
  • Slack Plan type
  • Slack User ID

To find Slack User ID:

  1. Open Slack
  2. Click your profile picture
  3. Select Profile → More → Copy Member ID
