"This is a work in progress." When Using the Salesforce for Slack App

Publiceringsdatum: Nov 11, 2024
Beskrivning

The following error appears for a user in the Slack Workspace after adding the Salesforce for Slack App to the Slack Workspace:
"This is a work in progress."

Note: This article is specific to the Salesforce for Slack app. See Identify Salesforce Slack Apps and Support to verify which Salesforce Slack app your organization is using.

Lösning

This error appears when the Salesforce for Slack App has not been fully configured in the connected Salesforce org. Two prerequisite steps must be completed before the Salesforce for Slack App can function for any user: each user must have the Connect Salesforce with Slack permission assigned, and the Salesforce admin must accept the Terms and Conditions in the Slack App Setup page in Setup.

Complete the following prerequisite setup steps:

  1. Ensure the user connecting to the Salesforce for Slack App has the Connect Salesforce with Slack permission assigned to their user record. This permission is required for each user to Enable Salesforce for Slack Integrations.
  2. Navigate to Setup | Slack App Setup and accept the Terms and Conditions via the toggle.

If the above setup is complete and the error persists, a lingering Slack user mapping from a refreshed, overwritten, or deleted sandbox or from an expired developer or trial org may be the cause. See Additional Resources below for steps to remove Slack user mappings.

Ytterligare resurser
  1. If you still have access to the connected Salesforce environment: Instruct the impacted user to log in and remove their Slack User Mappings. Each user must do this individually from their own Salesforce org login.
  2. Consider promoting this IdeaExchange idea for admins to centrally manage Slack user mappings in a future release: Mass deploy and authenticate Salesforce to Slack connections
  3. Prevent future issues: It's recommended and best practice to instruct users to remove Slack user mappings and remove the app once testing has been completed in non-production environments. See Disconnect Slack from Salesforce.
  4. If you no longer have access to the connected Salesforce environment: Log a case with Salesforce Support to investigate whether the user mapping may need to be manually removed. Provide the following when logging the case:
