Google is finalizing its move to the new reporting API.

In this article, we will go over the migration & changes expected with the new API.

UI:

  1. Engine Account Names are now filtered based on the selected Account and Advertiser. 
  2. The 'Include Removed Entities' option is deprecated, the new UI fetches the whole data set intrinsically.
  3. If the sub-manager does not have any clients, the stream will now fail with the error message "You do not have any clients for this sub-manager".
  4. The Old Data stream will receive new ID items. If you reprocess the data stream, the new data (IDs) will replace the old ones for the processed days.
  5. Mixing new and old fields within the same custom datastreams is impossible. If there is a need to add additional fields to an existing custom data stream, you cannot include new fields from the updated version (API). Instead, you'll need to create a new data stream specifically for the new fields introduced in the updated version.

Field Changes:

All field names on the API will be changed, in some fields, also the value will be slightly different.

Conversions Calculation Change:

After careful consideration and consultation with Google, we have updated some Conversions Calculations - 

From:

metrics.all_conversions + metrics.cross_device_conversions = Total Conversion
metrics.cross_device_conversions = Post impression/Viewthrough conversions
metrics.all_conversions = Post-click conversions

To:

metrics.all_conversions = Total Conversion
metrics.client_account_view_through_conversions = Post impression/Viewthrough conversions
metrics.all_conversions - metrics.client_account_view_through_conversions = Post-click conversions

To ensure your data is accurate, please reprocess all Google SA 360 data streams from March 19th.
