Changing Repository Folder Language After Tableau Desktop Installation

To change the language of auto-generated Repository folder after Tableau Desktop has been installed, carry out the following steps:

1. As an administrator on the computer running Tableau Desktop, make a backup of the registry file before you make any changes to it.
2. In Registry Editor, under Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tableau\Tableau <version>\Settings, modify the value data for RepositoryLanguage to the desired language:

• For British English: en_GB-EU
• For American English: en_US-US
• For Japanese: ja_JP-Japan
  
  Note: For other languages, please configure RepositoryLanguage to match the value identified in LanguageCode or SamplesLanguage. 

3. Start Tableau Desktop. The Repository folder language should reflect the value data entered in Step 2.
