How to Add More CPU/Memory for Tableau Server?

What are the steps needed to add more CPU cores and/or memory to the machine hosting Tableau Server?

Follow the steps below to add more hardware resource:
  1. Back Tableau Server data up, just in case something unexpected occurs and recovery needs to be performed.
    Backing up Tableau Server for recovery
  2. Run [tsm stop] command to stop Tableau Server.
  3. Deactivate all license keys.
    Deactivate Tableau Server Offline
    Deactivate Product Key (For Online Environment)
  4. Shut down the Tableau Server machine and change hardware specification (i.e. add more CPU cores or memory space).
  5. Activate all license keys before starting up Tableau Server.

  6. Run [tsm start] command to start Tableau Server up.
