How to Create a New Connection to a WDC in Tableau Server

When creating a new workbook in Tableau Server, WDC (Web Data Connector) is not available.
How do you connect to a WDC data source?

New WDC Connections are not available when creating a new workbook on Tableau Server right now. A list of our current available connectors can be found here:

In order to connect to WDC data when creating a new workbook in Tableau Server, you can connect to the WDC in Tableau Desktop and take an extract, and then publish that Extract to Tableau Server. If desired, you can then whitelist the WDC with Tableau Server in order to enable Extract Refreshes. The process for doing so can be found here:
