The Tableau Server Administrator or Owner can grant Editor access to the workbook or data source. To change owner, download the workbook or data source, republish to the same site and project with the same name, and choose Yes when prompted with Would you like to Overwrite?.
The Tableau Server Administrator or Owner can grant Editor access to the workbook or data source then use web edit to change the owner. Change the owner by opening the workbook in Tableau Server and click Edit. While in web edit mode, click Publish As and enter the same workbook name. When prompted with Would you like to Overwrite?, select Yes.
Note: You need to publish the workbook in the same location/path after editing with the same name to overwrite it. Otherwise a new copy of the workbook may be created in a different location/path.
Grant the Tableau Server user Project Leader permissions to the Project. The Project Leader can then change the owner if desired or refresh the workbook or extract. Note: A Project Leader cannot refresh a nested project when the top level is locked.
