Exporting View with Values Populated for Each Row

Task
How to export a view from Tableau Desktop so that each column in a row contains values.
Steps
Use the Copy option instead of Export:
  1. Select Worksheet > Copy > Crosstab.
  2. Open Excel or the desired spreadsheet program.
  3. Paste the data into the spreadsheet.
Additional Resources
By copying the view as a crosstab, and pasting the data into Excel, the full data behind the view in Tableau Desktop can be transferred to an Excel file, without merging cells that contain duplicate values.
