If you are using your Tableau Desktop license or server Creator seat on two computers, both can remain activated simultaneously. It is only necessary to deactivate a product key if you need to move one of your copies to another computer. For more information, see Move or Deactivate Tableau Desktop.
You can install multiple major versions of Tableau Desktop on the same computer. For example, if you need to share workbooks with a colleague who uses Tableau Desktop 2024.2, but you want to try out features of Tableau Desktop 2024.3, you may have both versions installed on the same computer and this counts as one copy for licensing purposes.
LBLM monitors the individual's computer usage and does not require or allow a deactivation. LBLM will manage unused computers and therefore deactivations are not needed.
