How to Work with Japanese Half-width and Full-width Characters

How to use the CONTAINS function or a filter when both Japanese full-width and half-width characters are being used in the data.  For example, if there are full-width characters and half-width characters in the data and using the CONTAINS function,Tableau returns a FALSE result.
