When changing a published extract from extract to live, an error occurs:
 
Error: Failed to change 1 extract to live

Cause

Switching between extracts and live connection on the web is supported only for data sources that Tableau Cloud can connect directly to. See a list of supported connectors at Allow Direct Connections to Data Hosted on a Cloud Platform.
Ratkaisu
1. If your Tableau Cloud site is not already configured to use Tableau Bridge to host live connections, follow the instructions in Allow Your Publishers to Maintain Live Connections to On-Premises Data to complete this configuration first.
2. In Tableau Desktop, connect to the published extract.
3. Right-click the data source in the Data pane and choose Create Local Copy. When prompted, choose a location to save the .tdsx.
4. Right-click the local copy and unselect Use Extract.
5. Republish the data source. During publishing, choose Maintain connection to a live data source and use Tableau Bridge to host the connection live.
