Cannot Generate Thumbnail As User when Publishing Workbook Using Published Data Source

When publishing a workbook that connects to a published data source that contains a user filter, you cannot select a user to generate thumbnails as. Instead, the thumbnail "User Specific View" displays. 

Cause

After a data source is published, calculated fields containing user functions such as USERNAME() are converted into non-calculated fields. This is to prevent users from editing user filters. As a result, Tableau Desktop can no longer generate the thumbnail as a different user.
Ratkaisu
Embed the data source in the workbook.
