When using Tableau's Offline Activation Site to submit an offline activation file as part of the process to Activate Tableau Server Offline, one of the following error messages might be received:
For Flexera Activation:
"We are unable to process your offline activation or deactivation file due to an unknown error. Please create a case with Tableau Technical Support. Please include the file as an attachment when creating the support ticket."
For ATR Activation:
"Error: Invalid Identity"
This error is seen when the incorrect key type is used, the key is invalid, because it has been replaced, the key has expired, or an air-gap offline.tlq file was incorrrectly updated. For example, when using a Tableau Desktop key to create an offline.tlq for Tableau Server.
Make sure that none of these common errors are preventing you from completing your offline activation:
Confirm that the key being used in generating the offline activation file matches the current "Offline Activation ID" reflected in the Tableau Customer Portal, and has not expired.
For air-gap / disconnected environments using FlexNet activation, there may be an error in the "TableauOfflineActivationRequest.tlq" file if it was edited manually. For more information, see Activating Tableau Server in a Disconnected Air-Gap Environment.
