When publishing a live Snowflake data source using Okta SAML with "externalbrowser" as the SAML IdP(Okta) URL, the following error occurs: 

 Tableau Cloud can't connect to the following database or publish with a live connection

Or​​​​

The specified authenticator and destination URL in Saml Assertion did not match

Cause

Using "externalbrowser" is only expected to work in Tableau Desktop, and is not officially tested or supported

Løsning
Replace "externalbrowser" with the URL for the SAML IdP Server and republish the data source. See Snowflake for more information. 

If using MFA with Okta, configure your Snowflake instance with OAuth and Okta. See Configure OAuth between Okta and Snowflake for more information.

"To connect through Okta SSO with MFA, Snowflake requires using browser-based SSO. If you are using native SSO for Okta, MFA is not supported."
