Error "No process is on other end of the pipe" Publishing workbook to Tableau Server

When publishing a workbook that uses a Tableau Server data source, the following error occurs:

could not receive data from the server: No process is on other end of the pipe. (0x000000E9/233)

 

Cause

The data connection was not established correctly between the extract file and the underlying data source.
Ratkaisu
Recreate the extract.  
  1. Download the workbook and open in Tableau Desktop.
  2. Edit the data source connection
  3. Remove the current data extract
  4. Recreate the data extract.
  5. Republish the extract.
