Tableau Error "The Field... has an invalid filter" on a User Filter Set

Описание

After replacing a data source in Tableau Desktop, a user filter set may become invalid with a red exclamation mark and the error "The Field... has an invalid filter" occurs.

Cause

The field used to create the user filter has been given a new name, causing an invalid reference in the user filter set.

Решение

To resolve the error, please review the two options below.

Option 1:

If there is an old version of the workbook with a valid user filter, follow these steps:

  1. In the new workbook, change the name of the field that the user filter was built on back to its original name
  2. Copy the functioning user filter in the old workbook
  3. Paste the function user filter into the new workbook
  4. Change the name of the field back to the desired name


Option 2:

Rebuild the user filter set.
