The Deactivate button in the Manage Product Keys dialog in Tableau Desktop may be unavailable (grayed out).
The key will be automatically deactivated if Tableau is unable to reach the Tableau-hosted “Authorization to Run” (ATR) service, after the duration set by user when enabling ATR, so there is no need for manual deactivation.
No action needs to be taken, as no deactivation is necessary when the ATR flag is set during installation.
Activating product keys in a virtual environment should be using the ATR feature flag:
ATRENABLED=1
If the Virtual environment was incorrectly set up, such as using an ATRREQUESTEDDURATIONSECONDS value that is too high, it may be necessary to contact Tableau Technical Support for assistance.
