Description

Unable to use data interpreter function when connecting to Google spread sheet from Tableau Prep Builder.

Cause

Data Interpreter function can only be used when connecting to Excel file from Tableau Prep Builder currently.

"When working with Microsoft Excel files, you can use Data Interpreter to detect sub-tables in your data as well as remove extraneous information to help prepare your data for analysis."

Résolution
Possible Workaround

1. Download Google Spreadsheet and save as local Excel file.
2. Connect to local Excel file from Tableau Prep Builder.
