Tableau Desktop Activation Breaks Repeatedly on Persistent Virtual Machine

Activation becomes broken intermittently (**BROKEN** HOST Trust Flags in Licensing Information) on a persistent virtual machine causing the need to re-activate the software.  The re-activation often will fail.

Cause

An older version of FlexNet executables (e.g. 11.17.2.0) are being used with the FlexNet license service 11.18.1.0.  This can happen when multiple versions of the product are installed on the same VM that are using different FlexNet versions.
Ratkaisu

Option 1

Change to use LBLM activation.

Option 2

Only use Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep Builder 2022.1 (or newer) on the same computer. That is to say, do not user older versions of Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep Builder on the same computer.

Note: Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep Builder 2022.x are End of maintenance and support 

Review Configure Virtual Desktop Support to configure ATR Requested duration:
Tableau Desktop or Tableau Prep Builder is given a 14 day authorization window during which it is authorized to run. This means that after the initial authorization, you could use Tableau without any network connection for 14 days before the activation expired.
