Description

When attempting to open Tableau Bridge 2020.4 or later, it does not open and the below error may display:

There was an unexpected problem so the Tableau Bridge client will restart now

The below error will display in the Bridge Worker logs: 

Worker Stopped. Will not restart worker again, quitting the UI process

Cause

2020.4 and later versions of Tableau products require newer processors which support SSE4.2 and POPCNT instruction sets.
Résolution
Try the below options to workaround the problem:
 
Option 1 
If Tableau Bridge is installed on a virtual machine, disable Processor Compatibility Mode. Contact your VM vendor for instructions. 

Option 2
Install Tableau Bridge on the computer with newer CPU that supports SSE4.2 and POPCNT instruction sets. See Technical Specification.
