Description

When user filters are used for row level security, the performance of dashboards may be slower than expected.

Security by user filters can impact performance on Tableau Server as the server cannot share connections and query caches if user filters are active.

Resolution

Use one of the following alternatives to restrict access to data:

Maintain separate views for different groups of users and set content permissions to restrict access to each view.
Enable Kerberos delegation or configure Tableau Server for SQL Server impersonation so that the row level security is provided by the database application.
