Error "107: TABLEAU_ERROR_LICENSING_ACTIVATION_OFFLINE" When Attempting to Complete Offline Activation (Legacy activation only)

When attempting to use the activation.tlf file as part of completing offline activation for a Tableau Desktop or Tableau Server environment using Legacy activation, the following error message might occur: 

 

107: TABLEAU_ERROR_LICENSING_ACTIVATION_OFFLINE 

 

Cause

If the machine in use is the same as the one that was used to generate the offline.tlq file in an earlier step in the process, an issue with Trusted Storage on the machine may have issues.

Ratkaisu

Reboot the machine in question and attempt the offline activation process again.

If attempting to activate Tableau Server, be sure to run the tsm stop command first. For more information, see Stop or Restart the Tableau Server Computer.

If the above information does not resolve the issue, please create a ticket with Tableau Technical Support. Please provide a licensing output as described in Providing License Data to Tableau Support. Note that for Tableau Server, the option for non-ATR activation should be used.
