When connecting Tableau Desktop to a Presto database, the following error may occur:

There was an unknown connection error to the database. The error message below has additional information, but you might need to ask the database administrator to review the database logs.
[Simba][Presto] (1020) Error with HTTP API at http://<host name>:8080/v1/statement : Couldn't resolve host name
Unable to connect to the Presto server "<host name>". Check that the server is running and that you have access privileges to the requested database.

Cause

Insufficient information is provided for the host name to be resolved.
Lösung
To troubleshoot this issue, try the following options:
Option 1 - Use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN; e.g. presto141.example.lan) instead of just the host name (e.g. presto141).

Option 2 - Try loading the URL (e.g. http://presto141.example.lan:8080/) in a web browser on the Tableau Desktop computer

Option 3 - Test the connection details in the ODBC Data Source Administrator (64-bit)
1. Open ODBC Data Source Administrator (64-bit).
2. Select the System DSN tab.
3. Select Simba Presto in the list of System Data Sources. If this DSN is not in the list, select Add > Simba Presto ODBC Driver > Finish and skip Step 4.
4. Select Configure.
5. Enter the connection details.
6. Select Test.
