If possible, moving away from the use of product keys and activating by signing in to a server (LBLM) will resolve this error. Please speak with your Tableau Account Manager if you would like to switch over to LBLM.
If your organization continues to use product keys, the following steps will recreate the Flexera license data storage area on your machine:
If the above steps do not resolve this issue, visit the Tableau Customer Portal and verify the product key being used is the correct license showing in the Portal. A license key can change when a new subscription term has occurred. Please activate the new key showing in the Tableau Customer Portal. The Tableau Desktop key will start with the letters "TC" or "TD".
