Error: "​An unexpected error occurred" When Loading Embedded View in SharePoint and Internet Explorer 11

When loading an embedded view on SharePoint in Internet Explorer 11, one of the following errors or a similar error might occur:
  • Unable to get property 'updatePropertiesShim' of undefined or null reference
  • Unable to get property 'TabbedNavigation' of undefined or null reference
  • Unable to get property 'FilterPanel' of undefined or null reference
 

Cause

Beginning with Tableau Server 10.0, compatibility with versions of Internet Explorer prior to IE 11 is no longer supported. 
Lösning
Follow one of the steps below:
  • Work with your IT team to disable Compatibility Mode for Internet Explorer 11. 
  • Work with your SharePoint Administrator to set the "X-UA-Compatible" meta tag to IE=11 or IE=Edge instead of a previous version.
