Error "Unable to install services in parallel" When Initializing Tableau Server

The following error occurred when Initializing Tableau Server.

Unable to install services in parallel:ERROR:
TSM services returned status 10

Cause

  1. Tableau Server must be able to resolve the hostname to an IP address either using the domain name server (DNS) or with a local host file on the computer running Tableau Server. 
  2. Tableau Server requires the latest version of the OS packages.
Løsning
1. As an important requirement before installing Tableau Server, please make sure the hostname has been defined
so that Tableau Server can resolve the hostname to an IP address.
  • Linux
  • When using DNS to resolve the hostname, confirm the DNS side has been configured.
  • When not using DNS, confirm the hostname has been defined in /etc/hosts file.

  • Windows
    • When using DNS to resolve the hostname, confirm the DNS side has been configured.
    • When not using DNS, confirm the hostname has been defined in \Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file.
2. For Linux, make sure that all the package versions installed on OS are up to date. Tableau is supported by the latest version of the OS packages and Tableau strongly recommends that you use the latest supported version of the Linux distribution you are deploying on.
