After a reboot of Tableau Server, or while installing/upgrading, Tableau Server is unable to start, and tsm status -v shows all services either unavailable or in an error state.

Cause

The error code [-1073741515] is a Windows system error code (equivalent to 0xC0000135, often STATUS_DLL_NOT_FOUND), not a Tableau Server specific error code. It typically indicates one of the following:
• Missing DLL Files: Essential system files are missing from the operating system, which is particularly common if the error occurs during an installation or upgrade.
• Permissions or Group Policy: The Run As Service (RAS) account lacks the necessary permissions, or a Windows Group Policy is overriding local permissions, preventing the services from starting
Ratkaisu
To resolve this issue, the recommended steps are:
1. Verify Run As Service Account Permissions: Confirm that the Run As Service account used by Tableau Server has the necessary local permissions applied.
2. Check Group Policies: Ensure that no Group Policies are overriding the local permissions required for the service account.
3. Re-apply Permissions or Change Account: As a potential workaround, try changing the Run As Service account to a different account or manually re-applying the permissions for the current account to reset them.
Troubleshooting
To confirm if this specific error is the cause of the failure, review the tabsvc log file on the affected node. Look for log entries where a process exits with the specific code [-1073741515]
