Error "Received verification code. Closing" and No Results Display When Connecting to Google BigQuery Using Tableau Prep

After starting Tableau Prep Builder and connecting to Google BigQuery using the browser authentication, no results are returned and the flow screen cannot load. Additionally, the following error occurs in the browser: 
 

Received verification code. Closing...


The following errors can also be found in the logs:
 

dse-type : OAuthFailure
is-local-configuration-error : False
error-source-raw : Client

 

Cause

Google's security protocols require using the default browser for authentication.

 

Ratkaisu

If a proxy server is enabled in Local Area (LAN) Settings of Internet Options, please work with your local IT to enable "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" and then click in Advanced and add [::1] as an Exceptions. 

If the above solution is not helpful, see the additional resolutions suggested (bypassing [::1] addresses in the local proxy, checking if IPV6 local address [::1] is not blocked, or contacting Google) in the following article: Error "Gateway Timeout" or "ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED" and Redirect to [::1] URL using OAuth.
