When using the "Preview in Tableau Desktop" option in Tableau Prep Builder, the number of rows of data and the values displayed in Tableau Desktop may be less than what is expected.
The "Preview in Tableau Desktop" option in Tableau Prep Builder only shows the data sample you are working with in your flow (with the operations applied to it, up to the step that you selected). For more information about this feature, see View flow output in Tableau Desktop.
To troubleshoot this issue, try the following options:
Option 1
In the Input step, on the Data Sample tab, select 'Use all data'. For more information about the different data sample settings, see Set your data sample size.
Option 2
Create an output step in your flow, and save the output to a file. Then connect to the file in Tableau Desktop.
In Tableau Prep Builder, data sampling is indicated by the 'Sampled' badge.
