SAML SSO login fail with HTTP Status 500 Internal Server Error

After Enabling Tableau Server for SAML, HTTP 500 error is displayed when attempting to log into Tableau Server.

Cause

Possible root causes are:
  • Lack of RSA Encryption
  • A key file not being generated correctly - It's highly recommended that all the key/certificate files are saved in an organized structure. Otherwise, the output of the key may be corrupted and not reflect correct information that is supposed to be pair with the certificate.
Risoluzione
Have the internal IT team regenerate the key file that has proper format, and matches with the certificate. Then re-exchange XML file between Tableau Server and IdP.
These changes will be applied after Tableau Server is restarted.
