The following error occurs when running a flow command line on Tableau Prep.
Error "oci not found" 

Cause

Oracle driver may not be recognized correctly upon running the flow from command line. 

e.g. C:\app\client\100113\product\12.2.0\client_1\bin\oci.dll
 
Ratkaisu
  1. Verify Oracle Driver Installation:

    • Check if the required Oracle driver is installed in C:\Program Files\Tableau\Drivers.
    • If missing, download and install the correct Oracle driver from the Tableau Driver Support page.
  2. Ensure Environment Variables Are Set Correctly:

    • Set the ORACLE_HOME environment variable to the correct 64-bit Oracle client installation path (e.g., C:\app\client\product\12.2.0\client_1).
    • Add the bin directory (where oci.dll is located) to the system PATH variable.
  3. Configure TNS_ADMIN for Service Name Connection:

    • If connecting via an Oracle Service Name, set the TNS_ADMIN environment variable to point to the tnsnames.ora configuration file.
  4. Restart the Machine:

    • After making changes to environment variables, restart the computer to apply the updates
