Error: "Type ... Refresh skipped." When Dropbox-hosted File Fails to Refresh in Tableau Cloud

Date de publication: May 1, 2025
Description
When refreshing a published data source in Tableau Cloud that uses a file hosted in Dropbox, the following error may occur:

Type <data source name> of data source is not in the list of types allowed for refresh. Refresh skipped. (errorCode=60007)

Cause

The data source connection was created in Tableau Desktop using a file-based connector (Excel, Text File, etc.) instead of the Dropbox connector. Tableau Cloud can only perform refreshes of Dropbox-hosted data sources if the Dropbox connector is used in Tableau Desktop and Dropbox credentials are embedded in the data source during publishing.
Résolution
Create a new data source connection in Tableau Desktop using the Dropbox connector, and then republish the data source to Tableau Server.
