When exporting to an Excel crosstab with a dimension on a Marks card, the Grand Totals are blank.
Dimensions on Marks cards are moved to the rows or columns shelf for inclusion in the export. This can create a situation where ATTR([Dimension]) is on the rows or columns shelf, which disallows the use of Grand Totals to prevent problematic situations. Thus even if the Grand Totals would be valid, the criteria for Grand Totals within Tableau Desktop are not met and so they are not computed during export. This behavior is currently limited by design.
Re-enable the exporting of Grand Totals to Excel by temporarily removing all Dimensions from the Marks cards (Color, Size, Text, Detail, or Tooltip).
