Custom Shapes Assigned to Ad-Hoc Calculation Revert to Default after Closing and Opening Workbook

When custom shapes are assigned to a calculated field, these shapes might revert to default when reopening the workbook. 

Cause

Ad-hoc calculations are not saved until they have been dragged to the Data pane. 
Oplossing
Before saving and closing the workbook, drag the ad-hoc calculation to the Data pane to save the calculation. 
Extra resources
  • Using a calculated field instead of an ad-hoc calculation will prevent this behavior.
  • This issue can also occur when publishing the workbook to Tableau Server.
